Charger

McDiarmid Controls announces that it now offers an X-Y charger control system update for large and small log applications.  We currently have this system installed at Superior Veneer located in Glendale OR, High Cascade Veneer in Carson Wa, Rosboro in Springfield OR, CFP Rutherglen Ontario, CFP Old Fort NC, Boise Cascade in Elgin OR, CFP Presquile ME, CFP Mellon WI, Nordic Veneer in Roseburg OR, and RFP Coquille OR.

SYSTEM FEATURES

1.      Seven - Twenty class 2 (IEC) laser range sensors

2.      1 ms laser scan time with .001” resolution

3.      Automatic round up complete signal

4.      Maximum radius data for auto carriage retract

5.      Projected lineal yield data for reporting and tray functions

6.      Bosch servo valves on all hydraulic actuators

7.      Increased Efficiency and speed over older charger systems

8.     Uses all off the shelf components.

BENIFITS

Decrease Cycle Time: The system removes the upper v’s and it no longer has to wait for the upper v’s to move out of the scanners sight.  It also speeds up your cycle rate you can have a log settle in the v’s while the log is waiting to be clamped by the charger. The systems lasers have a 1 ms scan time that allows us to scan an entire block in as little as 720 milliseconds.   Ease of Maintenance: Our System allows for the removal of upper v’s, removing the maintenance needed.  Also our lasers our easily maintained, we scan the top of the log with one set of lasers, which keeps them free of debris that often bothers systems that have scanners on the top and bottom of the log.  The lasers are also well protected from any flying debris that may come from the Lathe.  Increased Accuracy: Lasers have a .020” error at 40” distance allowing our system to be far more accurate than other systems out there.  We also believe that we have the most accurate Autoroundup calculation in the industry, an accurate Autoroundup will increase your recovery and speed and allow for more efficient loading of trays.  Wealth of Data: We also have customizable report printing options, and all information on each log ie diameter, full sheet radius, etc. are saved to a file.  This data can be used to check your log sort, and any other problems that may occur.

Report Screen

The report screen displays all individual log data along with a breakdown by block diameter and by diameter spun out.

Paperless Reporting

Reporting is done with an MS Access Database. Individual log data is collected during the shift and is compiled into shift totals at the end of the shift. Shift totals are then saved to .csv archives for future analysis.
